SEVIS fee

What is the SEVIS FEE?
The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement use a system to track and monitor schools’ programs, students and exchange visitors and their dependents throughout the duration of their approved participation within the US education system. This system is the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, or as it is better known: SEVIS. This information ensures that only legitimate foreign students or exchange visitors gain entry to the United States.

How Do I Pay the SEVIS FEE?
When you have received your I20 form from your chosen US University, you go to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement website: www.ice.gov

Then from the header bar select: International Students. From the drop down menu, select: i 901. You can then follow the instructions as to how to pay the SEVIS fee. The current fee is $200. Payment can be made online via most leading credit cards. When you have made your SEVIS payment, you will need to print off a copy of your receipt.

When booking your US visa appointment at the US Embassy in London, you will need to inform them that you have received your I20 form and that you have paid your SEVIS fee and have the receipt. The staff at the US Embassy will need to see proof of this along with your passport and completed US visa documentation.
