Once she expressed an interest in a Soccer scholarship in the USA we did some research and we were recommended to Phil @ Sporting Chance USA and the rest as they say is history. Phil guided us through the whole process and produced a football CV , match videos, training highlights he also helped us organise the SAT tests which are essential to obtain the academic side of the scholarship. Once Maddie had passed the SAT Phil emailed numerous colleges and universities and within a month Maddie was inundated with offers. She eventually chose Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania and apart from the initial lockdown in 2020 she hasn’t looked back. 2020 was a season only playing friendlies due to COVID travel restrictions in the USA

In 2021 Mercyhurst Lakers won the Pennsylvania championship and progressed to the nationals where they reached the last 16. Maddie was selected to the All Conference team and was named Defensive Player of the Year, as well as keeping up a 3.8 GPA. Maddie then stayed in the U.S this summer to play for Nashville Rhythm in the Womens Premier Soccer League. Nashville also won the Southern Conference and then went on to the last 4 in the finals losing to eventual winners California Storm in the semi final

Now back on campus Mercyhurst are joint top of Pennsylvania Conference and hoping to go a few steps further this year. Maddie currently has 9 clean sheets and is top of all goalkeeper rankings.
