19 Mar

We are delighted to welcome Summer-Lily Robinson (Swindon Town Ladies FC) to our Fall 2023 Women’s Soccer programme.

Sporting Chance USA would like to extend a warm welcome to talented defenders Summer-Lily Robinson. Summer is one of those defenders who can slot into any defensive position and fully understand the role she has to play. She reads the game so well for a young player and is quick to spot danger and is decisive when challenging for the ball. She has the pace to recover quickly and is rarely caught out of position.  Summer has a good range of passing skills and she is a player that will always play with her head up, constantly looking for the best positive pass.

17 year old Summer, who comes from the Bristol area of England, began playing soccer at the tender age of 6, intitially joining her local junior club before joining the Bristol City RTC Junior Academy at the age of 10. During her time at Bristol City, she was able to gain valuable experience playing against the likes of Chelsea FC, Arsenal FC and Leicester City FC academies. At the age of 13 Summer joined the Swindon Town FC Junior Academy where she remained up to the age of 16. During her time at Swindon Town FC Summer represented the club when winning the prestigious Barcelona Jordi Cup. During her time at High School Summer has represented her home County of Gloucestershire for two years and also represented Somerset Schools, helping them become the English FA Champions. Last season Summer made the move into women’s soccer playing for the Swindon Town Ladies First X1. She is also a member of the Swindon Town FITC programme at the Commonweal School based in Swindon. It’s an excellent programme that allows Summer to train almost every day, as well as gaining her academic qualifications.

Academically Summer is an ideal hard working student. She has a very good set of GCSE qualifications and she is currently studying for her A-Level Psychology and CTech in Sport & Physical Activity at the Commonweal School, Swindon. When she moves to a US College in Fall 2023, Summer hopes to study a Sport related Major.
