Hi Phil
Hope all is well back in the UK. Just to let you know I'm nearly all done and dusted here in Dayton. I'm finishing off my last semester and going to graduate in May with a Sport Management / Business Leadership degree.  Just wanted to say thanks for helping me have an unbelievable experience here. I counted up the States and places I've been since I came to America and I've been to 26 different States, 3 Provinces in Canada and made great long lasting friendships, as well as scoring a few goals as well!
Jack Pearson – University of Dayton Ohio / 2008 - 2012.

Hi Phil
We won the National Championships! Absolutely brilliant, it's up on the NJCAA website if you wish to see it, nationally ranked No.1 when the poll comes out next week.  I think it’s absolutely amazing! I haven't played much soccer here but the experience of playing with such an amazing team is fantastic! and I've also been transformed into a forward here!
Thank you for helping me to achieve this amazing dream, I appreciate the help you and John have given me and I would like to thank you for getting me into this team.
Thank you so much!
Josh

Josh Wood – Cloud County Community College, Kansas,  - 2011/2012.

Hi John,
Dom Francis was named to the NJCAA All-American 2nd team as a forward. A terrific accomplishment for someone playing the position for the first time.
Josh Gray was named to National tournament All-Tournament team.
Dom and Josh were also named to the All-region first team, with Jack West named to the All-Region second team.
Great advertisement for your company.
All the best,
Ken Gavin, Head Men’s Soccer Coach, Genessee Community College, Upper New York State.

Hi John
I wanted to let you know that Matt Balshaw has been named to our All Region team.
I know he is extremely proud of this accomplishment and honour. We had a very strong season this year especially at the defensive end. Matt was our only defender to stay health and play all 19 games. He really had a breakout season and was without question one of the best defenders in our region. In my opinion he was the best without question.
It has been very enjoyable to see his development as a person and player over these two years. He truly is a great young man and really has become a quality college player.
Phillip Bohn - Head Men's & Women's Soccer Coach, Jamestown College, North Dakota.

Hey Guys
Wow long time no speak, sorry for the delay, I have been so busy with everything and getting to grips with this heat, it’s unreal!
I’m enjoying so far, really good workouts and lots and lots of training which is fantastic, and football is soo good as well I’m really impressed.
I’m so glad I made the right choice in coming to you, otherwise I wouldn’t be in here today, so I thank you on behalf of my mum, dad and especially me, Thank you!
We played our first real match on Thursday and I started, I couldn’t believe it, I heard that many Freshman don’t get the chance to play in their first year, however I did, and I did so well, we won 4-1, gutted I didn’t keep a clean sheet, but it was my first game and Phil was impressed, so I’m started again today! We are playing Queens who are team in Charlotte, so excited. Both games have/or going to be played at home, so it’s a good atmosphere.
I like to hear from you two soon. Thanks you so much, for making this a reality.
Kind regards
Harry Mason. – Cumberland University, Tennessee.

Hi John & Phil
I just wanted to keep you updated on Chris’s progress after the completion of his second and final season at UIW. His team made it through to the NCAA Div II National Championships ranked Number 9, finally getting beaten by the Number 3 ranked team in the Third Round, who have now progressed to the semi-finals.
On a personal note, Chris has had a fantastic season, finishing ranked 7 in America for goalkeepers. He has also been nominated onto the Conference Team of the Year, the Conference All Academic Team of the Year and was voted as the overall Conference All Academic Player of the Year. To top that he was nominated onto the South Central Region Team of the Year and was voted as the overall South Central Region Player of the Year.
Just as pleasing as his sporting achievements is the fact he is likely to graduate with an excellent degree result, presenting him with excellent career opportunities. Obviously he has worked hard, however none of this would have happened without your help, support and guidance to present him with this opportunity. So once again, thank you from Chris and his family and keep up the good work in providing youngsters the opportunity to live their dreams and achieve their goals.
Kind regards
Bob Fidler – Parent of Chris Fidler, University of the Incarnate Word, Texas - 2010

Just getting in contact to thank you for making it possible for me to come out here, I am having the time of my life. First year at Cumberland went pretty well and this year is going even better. I have met a lot of great people and the football is going really well for me personally. Four games left in our season depending on the Conference tournament and even Nationals. It has been a long time since we have been in contact so I thought I would e-mail you to let you know how things are going and thank you again for making it possible.
Best Regards

Hi John / Phil
Just a short note to let you know Danielle played her first competitive game today winning 2-1. She is loving every minute at Bacone and keeps telling us she is ‘living the dream’.

Dear Phil & John
This card comes with heartfelt gratitude for making our son, Josh Roberts, dreams come true. The year since joining you has at times been a struggle, at times been an easy path. However, you have been there every step of Josh gaining his scholarship in the USA. He has settled well and is enjoying every second. We cannot thank you enough. Without Sporting Chance USA, boys with talent such as Josh, will miss out on opportunities and life’s chances. Thank you!
Dafydd and Amanda Roberts - Josh Roberts’ family

I'm writing to let you know that Josh left for Kansas on Wed morning. He arrived safely, tired, but excited to start this new experience in his life.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf of Josh and myself for making this dream become a possibility for him, as it’s something he has talked about for a couple of years. I'm sure we wouldn't have managed to get through it without the help and guidance you gave us throughout. I would recommend you to anyone considering a US sporting scholarship in the future.
Without your help I'm sure this experience would not have been possible for him and we are so grateful.
Thank you again

Hi Phil & John
Thank you both very much for all your help, effort and advice over the past year it has been much appreciated and welcomed at all times, I'll keep you posted on my progress. I hope you have an enjoyable year with your next crop of players.
Thanks,

James Martin (Men’s Soccer), St Edwards University, Austin, Texas, - Fall 2011.

I can't recommend Sporting Chance USA highly enough. We approached similar companies about scholarships but Sporting Chance USA was head and shoulders above all the others on cost, quality and a real personal service. I felt like I was the only person they were helping get a scholarship, such was the level of help and support provided. Their attention to detail is first class and I can’t wait to get out there. For me, the company are the best in the UK so don't go anywhere else!
Thanks again!

Just a quick update and thank you from our son; Jack West. He went back to Genesee College in New York State to start the second year of his degree course last Thursday. The opportunity of studying last year and playing soccer has been every bit as good Jack states as your sales pitch.
He has gone back 3 weeks early as he has been taken on by the coaching staff to deliver some soccer camp coaching to 12 year olds. This is just another example of the opportunities to be had out in the States.
Jack has now fully recovered from the rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament and is training hard for the new season ahead. He once again would like to thank you both for all the support over the last year. He has already met a team mate who you have recommended to Genesee whilst back home here in Sheffield and told him "this will be the best decision you ever make" coming out to the states.
Jack will be looking to move on after this second year to finish his degree and once again looks forward to your judgement and support on where is best to move next. Hope you are both well.

Hi Phil,

Hi Phil
Just emailing to say how great my first year has been at Cumberland. Thanks for everything you and Sporting Chance USA did to help me reach my goal. I have got along great with the team and the other two lads who came through Sporting Chance USA. I’m just currently coaching in California for the summer trying to earn a bit of money to take back to college with me and I can’t wait to get back and start pre-season. Once again thank you all.
Nathan Gillespie (Men’s Soccer) – Cumberland University, Tennessee - Fall 2010.

Brilliant it sounds fab. I’m so happy John, you’re a true inspiration and I cannot thank you enough. You’ve been there through thick and thin.
Thanks

Hello Phil, John
You have throughout our experience been very approachable on all issues concerning our son's needs and even though our son David is now over in the US, attending the University of Akron, (NCAA Division 1 National Soccer Champions), I know he would like us to thank you on his behalf for opening up so many fantastic college opportunities provided to him. I have got a lot of contacts in the US myself but know I could not have accessed the volume of colleges who eventually showed their hand in taking our son.
We also would like to take this opportunity to thank you both for just being there at times when we as parents needed your guidance and support.  You both were constantly by our side throughout this experience, accessible at all times, even the late phone calls and messages were handled in a friendly step by step manner.  Knowing you are still by our side if we require assistance is very re-assuring!
Last but no means least, as loving caring parents, if our daughter was to also decide to follow a similar path as her older brother, we would without doubt use your service again.
Sincerely
Keith and Jan Mayer (parents of David Mayer; Akron University, Ohio, - Fall 2011)

Hi John
I want to thank you for your availability, I would like continue a working relationship with Sporting Chance USA,  as I believe you attract the best players of any recruiting company, and Phil and yourself are very good to work with.  Therefore, should you have quality and talented student-athletes for the Fall of 2012, please don't hesitate to send them my way.  I do not want to be in the same situation this time next year, facing a race against time to get players in. It would be better for all concerned to have players signed and sealed as early as possible.
Thanks again for all your help, and I look forward to hearing from you in the months to come.
Lee Squires – Head Men’s Soccer Coach, Lees McRea College, North Carolina. (NCAA Div 2)

Hi Phil,
Just thought I’d send a quick message saying thanks for everything you and John have done for me. There’s no way I’d be here right now if it wasn't for the both of you. I’ve just finished my first year and I’ve loved every minute of it, apart from the injury of course but I got cleared to play again today so I’ll be back in no time. Coach Matt told me that there might be another English lad coming from Sporting Chance USA, if he needs any help in regards to anything or just wants to find out more I’ll be happy to help.
Thanks again
Danny.

Afternoon Phil & John
I was just thinking about you guys and thought I would drop you a line. I am Ryan Duffy-McGirr’s mum (Davenport University).
Firstly I have to complain ...........  Ryan has enjoyed his first year so much he is not coming home for the summer, staying with some great friends he has made. (  Thanks !!!)
No really we cannot say thank you enough for bringing this opportunity to Ryan and all the help, guidance & support all the way.
The university did win double champs in the WHAC this season which is the furthest they have ever got before and the lads were treated accordingly.
The has made so many friends (which is why he is not coming home  !!!  ) from many different countries all doing the same. There is one from Trinidad, South Africa, some from Ireland, New Zealand and the list goes on.
As you know we did not have the best start what with everything over there but thanks to your help yet again and some patience it all paid off.
As far as Ryan is concerned it is the best move he has ever made.
Thank you again, sorry for the delay.
Tracy Duffy – Parent of Ryan Duffy-McGirr – Davenport University, Michigan 2010.

Hi Phil & John
I'll be writing a more in-depth thank you (testimonial) to you soon but just wanted to drop you a quick email today thanking you on your excellent achievement in getting Wyatt a super offer. You're a first class outfit that work extremely hard on the athlete's behalf. Hi John and Phil
Thank you both so much for making this happen. It seems to have happened so fast but I know I still have to make sure that my ACT score is up to scratch. I'm currently studying just to make sure if I have to take it again in April I'll be ready. I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Hi John & Phil
Hope all is well over in Notts. I thought I would shoot you guys an email to let you know how I'm getting on at King. King is a lovely college with a really nice campus. The professors are top drawer and are really helpful and crazy smart! The team are really close and its a really good soccer programme. The standard of the Conference Carolinas is tough. Last year was a transition year for King so I'm looking forward to our first full season in the conference in the Fall. Hope you guys are keeping well over there and thanks again for your help getting me my opportunity.

Hi Phil/John
Just thought I would let you know how everything is going in America.
I struggled at first with being out so long with injury and training in that heat! But when I found my feet I was glad to be back!
We won our region and then won the play-offs as well! Made it to nationals but got knocked out first round. To say that they only won two games in the last two seasons and then to go on and make it to nationals is a pretty big deal tho!
Just wanted to say thank you for your help in getting me there and I hope you have a successful new year.
Thanks again.
Oliver Templeton, Shippensburg University, Pennsylvania - 2010

Hi John and Phil,
Want to just thank you again and let you know how much I enjoyed attending the showcase in York, December 2010. I thought the quality was there and I look forward to staying in touch with several of the players involved. Matt Smith and I are already making plans for next year. Stay in touch and if there is any information I can ever get you, or players that cross your path that you think I need to follow up with let me know.
Brian S. Purcell; Head Women's Soccer Coach - Presbyterian College

Hi John & Phil
Just a quick note to wish you both a Merry Christmas. As you know, I was injured in the last game of the season at Genesee College. I tore my ACL and had the operation in the States in mid November. I am now home for Christmas until the 16th January, doing the exercises in my rehabilitation programme daily.
Just wanted to say a big thank you for the support and information you gave my parents in sorting out my operation. In the end, we made the decision to have the operation in the States, as opposed to waiting 6 months in the UK. Hopefully I will be fully fit for the start of the new season.
The life over in the States is excellent and I have just received my first grade point average (3.3). This is the best decision I have ever made and I would like to thank you for all the help you gave us in making this possible. I believe that after 4 years I will return with a good degree and gain a good well paid job as a result of my studies.
Hope to see you both soon.

Hi Phil and John
I just wanted to update you on a great first season here at Lenoir Rhyne in North Carolina. I started every game except the last regular season game through injury. At the end of the year I was selected for the all-conference second team (
http://www.lrbears.com/article.asp?articleID=840).
I'm really looking forward to next season when Jordan will be captain and we hope to have an even better year.
I'd like to thank you for all your help with getting this place, I'm really enjoying it, even the academic side.
I'll keep in touch.
Best regards
Chris Wilson – Lenoir Rhyne College, Men's Soccer 2010/2011.

Hi Phil,
I am so so sorry it has taken me this long to reply and let you know how I am getting on, have just been so busy!
I am absolutely loving it and having the time of my life. It is way more than I ever expected it to be!!
I seem to be getting on really well in both academics and swimming and am swimming faster than I ever have in my life.
The team atmosphere, the weather and the coaching staff definitely have all helped with that and I feel part of a family.
Thank you so much for everything you did for me, I couldn't be more grateful as you truly helped me achieve my dream!
I hope you are well, thank you again,
Jessie Porter

Hello Phil & John
Sorry for the late reply! Everything here is going fine thanks. It's been a good season here at Bacone College - a big thank you to the Sporting Chance USA team for giving me the opportunity to come here, especially to John for his continuing efforts which finally led me to here at Bacone, and also to Phil for taking the chance to come see me play.
Kuda Chiejeche - Bacone College, Oklahoma. 2010/2011

Hi Phil
I just thought I'd give you a quick update; I'm loving it out here!! I've started the last 5 games in holding midfield and we are currently 7 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw... a lot better than their 1-12-1 record last season! The campus is great and all the lads are top, it especially helps having two other English lads on the team. I flew out with one of them who's a junior on August 8th, so been out here over 2 months now, it's gone ridiculously fast. The standard of football/soccer is probably higher than I expected and the sunshine state conference is a bit topsy-turvy, everyone's beating each other and no-one can win at home!
Could you send my regards to John as well please.
Take care Phil.
Luke Jenner; Florida Southern College, 2010/2011

Hi John and Phil
I hope you are both well.
It's maybe a little late but I just wanted to thank you both for your efforts in getting Chris placed at Uni in the States this year. The feedback from Chris about UIW in San Antonio is extremely positive and he has really settled in to both Academic and Sporting Life. Even after only a couple of months Chris seems to have found a spiritual home and loves everything about the whole experience.
He certainly seems to have grabbed the sporting opportunity with both hands (pardon the goalkeeping pun), just winning his second weekly award from the Conference. With the team also just getting ranked Nationally at 7 in the NCAA Div II the season couldn't be going much better.

Academically Chris is enjoying the Masters course he is taking and to date has received excellent marks in his first module. This is probably an opportunity he would never have had without your help, so once again thank you for everything you did to make it happen.
I know Chris wants to come to your next showcase in December and as appointed driver I look forward to saying hello and seeing some of next year's talent.

Hi John and Phil,
Just want to thank you for giving me this opportunity to fulfil my dream its greatly appreciated. I'm loving it out here definitely made the right decision by coming to St Edwards. I'm finally starting to play like I know I can now after getting used to new surroundings, teams and weather.
We've got a good squad going on a lot of the starting team are freshman and sophomore so we should have a good 4 years ahead.
In regards to plus and minus the majority of them are pluses. The only minus for me was the weather it was nothing what I expected the heat is hard but I'm starting to get used to it and it just takes a bit of time and a good pre season to prepare for it.
The plus side the location is amazing there's so much to do there's always music events, parties and I rarely get bored. All the guys are ace and make you feel welcome as well as the Texan people always make you feel at home and are always interested when they hear you are English.
The campus is a nice sized campus and has an amazing view of downtown Austin. The classes are around 20-30 people which is a good sized class. There's a good variety of courses and there's always events and things going on to get everybody involved.
On the football side the coaches are excellent we have a good mix between both coaches. Coach Young is a very demanding coach always wanting perfection and constantly wants hard work and effort, whereas Coach O'Sullivan does more of the technical work. He has helped me so much already improve as a player and I can't wait to work with him throughout the spring. Both coaches are aiming high and were aiming to get to the NCAA playoffs hopefully this year but if not definitely next year. The competition is good in the squad, which helps you up your game to the next level.
As a whole the university and area are amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anybody wanting to come over.
Once again thanks John and Phil for everything you've done for me.

Hi Phil
I'm really enjoying everything here and everyone around the college are all so friendly. The soccer is going really well, I'm playing upfront and am Genessee's top goalscorer. I have scored 7 goals and have got 7 assists and in 11 games and am currently ranked 21st in the NJCAA table. Last week I was named as one of 4 Soccer Players of the Week from other colleges, so that was really good as well.
Hope to hear from you soon

Things are going really well for me here at Lenoir Rhyne College, the season is well
underway and it looks as though we could go far in our conference with the team
we have. Everyone has made me feel very welcome here, the facilities are as good
as any big professional club back home which is great, also i've got a great
attacking role within the team giving me freedom to express myself on the pitch.
The playing standard is good, the games are competitive and hopefully will push
me too that next level. Many thanks once again for your help in getting me out
here and for your continued support!

Hi to both of you Phil and John,
I am writing on behalf of me and Luke just to say that everything is going well on this side! We have played 3 matches now, a tournament in Kentucky where we both played and Luke scored on his debut! He has been playing centre midfield instead of centre back though and I have been playing right midfield instead of striker.
We lost the game the day after that one though, that was the semi final that we won 2-0 where we both had good performances. The final was a game the day after and we lost 2-1 both playing well but quite sore and tired as we missed pre season but we are fitting it very well however.
The next game we played was away in Virginia where we lost 3-1. We have got a tournament in Indiana this weekend, one of them against a team who beat the number one ranked team in the country so that should be interesting! We leave on Friday morning and we have a game in the afternoon and then another game on the Saturday. The week after that is when the conference starts against a team called Bethel who are supposedly the best team in the league so we will have to see about that!
We would like to thank both of you for your help in everything, we wouldn't have been able to get here without you two so thank you very much.
We will keep you updated with everything.
Regards, Harry and Luke.

Just wanted to thank you again for all your help with Martel. He is doing very well so far. This weekend he scored 4 goals in 2 matches including 2 against #24 ranked Oklahoma City University. He's definitely solved our goal scoring problems!
Thanks again for all the help.

Hi John
I would like to thank all that you and Phil did to get me out here in the USA, you were fantastic. I am loving every minute out here and as a team we are just finding our feet as we have 18 freshman in the squad of 23. We just recorded our first win against Cumberland University. I have passed on your details to many of my friends who are thinking of doing what I have done. So just to say thank you.

Just wanted to let you know we moved Jessie into Florida Gulf Coast last weekend - what a fantastic place - she has settled well and having a great time.
Thank you for all your help and guidance it is very much appreciated and we would not have got there without your help.

Hi Phil and John
Hope all is well. I'm settling in pretty well in my new surroundings. I'm still adjusting to the heat though. It was 47 degrees the other day!! Pre-season really isn't a joke over here either! I scored on my debut with my first shot and then I scored again on my home debut 4 minutes in with my first shot, so I am currently on a 100% goal scoring record! My coach has set me a target of a goal in every game and I'm willing to take up the challenge!! Thanks for all your help in the limited time we had.
Martel Reid-Warden – Lyon University, Arkansas, 2010/2011

Hello Phil & John
Sorry it has taken me so long to write but may I take this opportunity to thank you both for your work getting Nathan a place in America. I must admit on first impressions albeit on the internet Cumberland University more so Lebanon looked like it was going to be a place that would take some time to get used to, but thankfully how wrong we were. I travelled out with Nathan when he went so that I could have a look at the place and was overwhelmed with what I saw. The coach was very friendly and instantly likeable along with everyone else associated with Cumberland. The University itself is immaculate, the area fantastic. Nathan has settled in like a duck to water and is thoroughly enjoying every minute out there. The trouble with that is I now have to take my wife and daughter out there in October, but at least I will get to see a couple of games.
Once again thank you for your efforts and succeeding where a similar company in Scotland couldn't even be bothered - if only we had come to you first! I hope that you get good feedback from the coach and that Nathan represents himself and Sporting Chance USA in the very best way.
Bob Gillespie, father of Nathan Gillespie – Cumberland University, Tennessee, 2010/2011

Hi Guys
Just wanted to let you know pre season at Rider has gone terrific. I have started both pre season games and scored and had an assist. Tonight is our season opener at home against Lafayette and I have been selected in the starting 11. I am so happy! Just saying - thanks again.

Hello John/Phil
We just wanted to thank both of you for the excellent service you offered in helping our son Jack achieve his ambition of playing soccer in the United States whilst studying for a degree. He has now been over at Genesee Community College in New York State for 2 weeks and after a rocky start (no bed) has quickly settled into his new life. He has made friends from both the soccer team and college study classes. Jack has played 4 games so far and is yet to concede a goal. The coach seems impressed with his abilities and has decided he will be his first choice goalkeeper for the season, being given the number 1 shirt. This has made Jack so happy and he seems to be enjoying the academic side of the experience just as much. He is already getting interest from some universities, so is keen to keep his grades up. Without your help we would not have known where to start and your expertise has been so valuable. We will keep you informed of Jack's progress and we hope to come back to you to look at universities in the near future.
Best Wishes

Hi Phil and John
Sorry it has taken me a while to send this e-mail, I have been extremely busy lately with pre-season training. I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you for making this dream of mine a reality. I still can't believe I am here. The temperature and humidity here in Tennessee is unbearable but we have all been working hard and pre-season is going really well. I feel lucky to have been placed at Cumberland University and it has beaten the expectations that I had of it. The football team is a real good group of lads and we are all getting on fine. Luke and Harry should love it here.
Once again, many thanks.
Nathan Gillespie – Cumberland University, Tennessee, 2010/2011

Hello
Sorry I haven't replied in a while been busy with pre season and everything. All is really good here, having a really good time, the lads are great and the coaching staff are really helpful and know what they are talking about. Hopefully I will be playing the first pre season scrimmage down Illinois tomorrow in preparation for the season. Once again thanks for everything and hope is all well.

Hope you are well. Just a quick thank you for helping us with Aidan. He is settling in soccer wise and is a top quality young man. He will have a great time here.

Hi Phil
I want to say thank you to yourself, Elaine and John for the opportunity you have provided me this year. I am now in the process and packing to leave for America on 11th Aug and without Sporting Chance USA I would not have been given this opportunity. The university I am going to have made the process feel easier along with yourselves. I would recommend your company to any other person requiring a scholarship because the support you provided me has helped me live my dream. Thank you.

Thanks John
Ryan went on Thursday and spent a few days living with Carl (his coach). He is loving it already and his friends are most envious. He went to a beach party on Saturday night on the lakes.
He moved into his accommodation yesterday, they started training at 7am this morn, followed by another session this evening.
Thank you & Phil for all you help.

Just like to say a big thanks for all the help and giving me the opportunity to get out to America and to take my game to the next level! All my visa is sorted and I've got clearance, so I'm just waiting to get out there now!

Hi John
It was a pleasure working with your company. I completely understand how hard it has been for you to place these kids in schools this year, especially if they have taken a BTEC. Averett can take these kids and hopefully we will work with you again.
Have a great day,
Carly Michelle Pearce, Head Women's Soccer Coach Averett University, Virginia.

John
I want ten more like this one : Great kid, great attitude, and great skills. Thank you so much, looking forward to many more in the future!!!
Benjamin "Coach" Wade – Head Men's Soccer Coach, Lassen Community College, California (referring to Simon Mellon 2010/2011)

John
Thanks to you and Phil for all you do. I know the process gets frustrating sometimes. Some players sail
through the admissions process, while others with the same or similar credentials get held up. I do not
know your salary, but you earn every penny!
Thanks again.

Hi Phil
Just wanted to let you know I had my VISA approved on Saturday and will be flying out to Post Uni on the 14th August to start pre-season training!
Thanks for all your help - I'm really excited and can't wait to get started. I'll let you know how things work out over in the States in a few months.
Thanks again,
Gracie.

"She Kicks is proud to announce it has teamed up with Sporting Chance USA to form a Commercial Partnership that will assist young women who are seeking to secure a soccer scholarship to the States.

She Kicks scoured the globe to find a suitable partner with the right ethos, philosophy and credentials to deliver the necessary support, understanding, time and commitment to readers who are considering the possibilities of a football scholarship in the U.S.

Over a hundred girls from the UK are currently studying and playing in the U.S. (61 were at Division I Soccer programmes, this past autumn season). Many more of you will inevitably be keen to explore the opportunities of what a scholarship in the States could hold for you: a valuable education, the opportunity to play the sport you love at a highly competitive level, top coaching and life experience you won't get here in the UK.

"I've spoken to a number of organisations who offer this kind of service and without a doubt Phil Selby and his staff offer the most professional service and personal attention to detail, by far. Their success rate is amazing. I put this down to their relationships with a large group of college coaches and also how they handle the players. I feel very confident and comfortable endorsing Sporting Chance USA and am excited for our readers too", commented SheKicks' Commercial Manager, Anthony Nolan."

Hello Phil
This is Darren Back. You may not remember me, but we met in Nottingham and you recruited me for Adrian Blewitt in 2006 (Lenoir-Rhyne College).
I hope you are well? It is good to see your own agency is still giving kids a fantastic opportunity. I could not imagine what I would be doing now if I had not met you!
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I graduated in May 2008 and got married in March 2009. I have been coaching since and just recently accepted an Assistant Women's soccer coach position for Northwestern State University (LA).
The head coach at Northwestern is trying to recruit more European players but is sceptical of going through agencies. I immediately thought of you and told him of your agency and how it was different to many others.
It would be great to hear from you and see if we can help each other out in anyway.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Regards,
Darren

Hey Phil
Hope all is well, haven't spoke to you in a while so thought I'd give you an update on how things have gone over the last few months. Our team did really well we won our District and Region which got us to the National Tournament 1st time since 2002, finished the season ranked 8th in the Nation with a record of 18-7. On a personal note i had a pretty good season, i was made team captain, Defensive Player of the Year, 2nd team All Conference, Conference Player of the Week, and I also got selected for the National Team of the Tournament.
George Curry also had a great season he got Player of the Year along with 2nd team All Conference. So all an all it's been a very good season. Anyway hope you had a nice Xmas and best wishes in the New Year.
Thanks again

Hi Phil
Just a thank you from us all for getting Niall involved in the 2009/2010 Soccer Showcase game. All three of us enjoyed the day and were amazed how well things went due to the weather conditions. We had a chat on the way home and couldn't believe how positive Niall was with regard to gaining a scholarship. We were impressed also with the way that Warren Turner (Erskine College) covered the points that sprung to our minds. It was also nice to meet Elaine, and to chat about the "old days" at Notts County with John.
Thanks once again for your input so far.
Brian and Tracey Harrison

Hi Phil.
Hope all is well? Just checking in to say hi really! Things are going good out here, it's Fall break this week so we have the week off school. We have started our conference run now and play two games away in Texas at the end of this week.
I have scored 2 goals from right back this season, they came in our first game of the season last week, here is a video of them:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7Kd_BfA3qE
I also got one assist in that game too.
Let me know how things are at your end, will be good to hear from you.
Take care,
Jamie

Hi Phil,
Sorry I haven't been in contact for a while but I'm sure you could have guessed how busy I've been!!
Firstly, just to say thanks so much for everything you did for me to get me out here, you don't know how much I appreciate it, it's going to be the best 4 years of my life you can just tell.
If you ever want me to give a quote on your website or anything to promote you or your company I'll happily do that no problem.

Hi Phil
I know Zak emailed you last night saying that he'd like to go with Sporting Chance USA , but I just wanted to thank you from the parents' point of view.
I must say that yesterday we were really happy that you had good answers for all our questions, and when we left you Amanda and I were in no doubt that you were the better option. We let Zak decide for himself, of course, (as it is his life after all!) but thankfully, he was similarly impressed.
The main clincher for us was the 'continuing' support you provide. You are still in contact with kids and parents who have gone off to the States, checking their progress and helping where needed. You provide time at the showcase game to cater for the parents and give them information. I know also that I shared Zak's belief that you have a huge passion for what you do.
I'm really excited about the coming months and seeing Zak's dream come to fruition and I'm looking forward to working with you to help make that happen.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards

Hi Phil
I know it took me a long time to come back to you since I moved to Radford University here in Virginia in Fall 2009. I am very proud to be a product of Sporting Chance USA. Things has been going very well for me both in the field and academically. So far I have scored 3 good goals and as a Midfielder, I am happy for this achievement. I have also played each and every game. My team members are all fantastic and supportive players and the Coach is superb and a well respected man.
I realised that Sporting Chance USA don't just recruit athletes for the sake of getting their money but they only take those with the talent, education and ability, because I have been very impressed by Myles Jones' ability here at Radford. He is a solid, talented and quality player for us and he has commanded first Jersey in the team in his first year as well.
Phil Selby is a great guy and knows exactly where to place his athletes, because I am enjoying life here in Radford. All athletes who want to join from Africa, please do not hesitate to deal with Phil, because he is the right man, so why not join Sporting Chance USA for 2010.
Phil and Gladman, I want to thank you guys for what you have done for me. I will continue to shine here in Radford for you, we are going for the tournament next week and I promise to shine and score another goal to dedicate it to Sporting Chance USA.
Brian Tinashe Gwanzura (Zimbabwe) - Radford University, Virginia (NCAA Div 1) - Fall 2009

Early in February 2008 young soccer player Billy Sparks joined Sporting Chance USA, under the consultancy of Phil Selby, with a view to gaining a soccer scholarship in the USA for the Fall 2008. Within 2 days Phil had placed Billy's profile on the Sporting Chance USA website and was preparing to produce a video of Billy in action. As interested University/College Soccer coaches began to contact Phil he kept us fully up to date very quickly and provided excellent advice on the calibre of interested parties. It was very apparent that Phil has extensive knowledge of the USA soccer environment with a considerable list of notable coaching contacts.
As someone who represented Billy's interests on our behalf, Phil was professional, discreet and diplomatic and we highly recommend any family in the same situation seeking a soccer scholarship for their son or daughter to use Sporting Chance USA.
By the end of February, Billy had to choose between 4 excellent soccer scholarships, each one as good as the other, and we believe this success can only be attributed to Phil Selby's expertise in this field.

Hi Phil - sorry it has taken me so long to get round to this, but here goes
"Well, she has gone and as we haven't heard from Ellie for nearly a week, and from what we can gather from her facebook, is now very settled and enjoying life at Appalachian State University.
She would never have had this opportunity of a full scholarship to a top university in America if it wasn't for Phil. When Ellie first said she wanted to go to the States to combine her tennis with a university education, we contacted a well-known company in the UK who also deal, with getting athletes to universities in the USA, but they wanted an extortionate amount of money for their services and didn't hold out much hope for Ellie, as they said her UK tennis ranking was not particularly high (4.1).
We then contacted a company in the US, paid them, and heard nothing!!!
By now it was February 2009 and we really thought we had blown it for this year. However, as one last attempt, we found Sporting Chance USA through the internet and from then on it was all systems go.
Phil did all the hard work for us, contacting the universities with a resume of Ellie's tennis achievements and academic qualifications. He also told us that for Ellie to stand a chance at a good University, she would have to resit the SAT to gain a higher mark (which she did).
We didn't really hold out much hope of a Division I University offering Ellie a scholarship but in the end, thanks to Phil's excellent marketing skills, she had several to choose from and chose Appalachian State as it is a Tier 1 University, ranked 9th.
Phil held our hand every step of the way, even telling me off at one stage for listening to well-meaning parents of other children at University in the USA, when they told me we had left it too late in the day.
There is a lot of paperwork to do (and money to hand over at various stages) but I always knew Phil was at the end of the phone, or if I emailed him, the response was immediate.
Thanks Phil, you have certainly pulled it off for Ellie, the rest is now up to her!
Debbie Linsell – Mother of Women's Tennis player - Ellie Linsell: Appalachian State University - Fall 2009.

Hi Phil,
I'm really enjoying it here, the team is great and has a really good spirit and all the other people and friends I've made are really cool, because it's such a small place there isn't a lot to do but they have a Students Activities Board, which set up some good nights out and parties which are popular within the college. I haven't got home sick and I don't think I will be doing. I only want to go home so I can thicken up my accent haha, the girls love it!!! But ye, it is a really good college and I am enjoying it.
Dan Walmsley – University of Charleston, West Virginia - Fall 2009.

Hi Phil
Just a quick word to thank you for all your time and effort in getting Kevin to America. It could never have been done without your direction, hard work and attention to detail. On behalf of Kevin we would like to thank you very much and wish you continued success.
The first step is always the hardest but this was made very easy for Kevin in meeting you.
Kindest regards
John and Marcella O' Brien, Ireland, (Parents of Kevin O Brien) Davenport University Michigan. Fall 2009

Hello Phil
How are you doing? I am having a really great time in the United States! All of my classes have started and my basketball has begun too. The classes are going great and i have been getting good grade too, it's a lot different from home though especially essay writing and things but I'm coping well. Training has been really good, we have just been doing a lot of conditioning and running but it's been good! We are scrimmaging once a week too, which has been good and all the girls are really nice! It's not a lot different from how we play at home but the fitness level is a lot higher. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to fulfil these dreams. Have a great day
Nicole Worth (Women's Basketball) Midland Lutheran College, Nebraska, Fall-2009

Hi Phil
I have been in America now for 2 weeks and loving it so far. The training is very hard and more or less exactly how you described it. Thanks very much for all your help to get me here. I defo would not be here if it wasn't for you thanks a lot.
Thanks
Kevin O'Brien, Davenport University, Michigan, Fall-2009

In February 2008 Billy Sparks joined Sporting Chance USA to seek a Soccer Scholarship in the USA - very quickly Phil Selby had a couple of very good offers for Billy both of which would have been good opportunities - however, the SAT exam proved testing and these offers had to be declined - undaunted Phil had great faith in Billy and in June 2008 he was instrumental in getting Billy an NAIA College place to start in August 2008 - the paperwork involved was immense but Phil guided us through it effectively and professionally pointing out the 2 from 3 options (a good GPA, top 50% in graduation class, SAT 820 or ACT 17) so that Billy spent some time in the USA at the College before deciding it was not for him - at this point Billy was advised to return to UK college and try again in Fall 09 which we believe was the best option - Phil continued to market Billy, encouraged him to take ACT as an alternative to SAT and gave him the chance to impress USA coaches in the 'Sporting Chance USA - December Soccer Showcase' - the ACT was successful, Billy met lots of good USA coaches, played well enough to receive 3 great offers and word of mouth back in the USA resulted in 2 more offers early in 2009 - Phil's Soccer Showcase was a massive success for 90% of the players attending - at this point Phil's knowledge of the USA Soccer Scholarship scene really came to the fore - knowing his players so well he is able to match them up at Colleges and Universities that suit them best - this was the case with Billy who will now be flying out to Tennessee, with 2 more of Phil's players, in August this year - in thanking Phil for all his efforts we are bound to say that in the 18 months Billy has been involved with Sporting Chance USA we have witnessed a real respect develop for Phil's expertise in this subject area both from his clients in the USA as well as his own players here in the UK - his is a company that provides great value for money
John, Rita & Billy Sparks - March 2009

Hi Phil,
Thanks a lot for everything, I am as sure as I could be that this wouldn't have been possible without you, and the one-to-one service you provide has been invaluable throughout the journey.
First training session tomorrow, a bit nervous but all the lads seem good. Classes start tomorrow too, nervous again but I'll be alright. Keep in touch and hope to see Josh out here soon.
Thanks once again,

Hi Phil
I saw the article about me in my local paper yesterday and just wanted to thank you for putting it in. My parents have obviously cut it out and will probably frame it. Just to let you know, I'm flying out on Monday and again, I just wanted to thank you for your guidance to get me where I am. I shall keep in touch and update you with how it's going. If you have a presentation at Warwickshire College, I'd be more than happy to come and promote it for you providing I'm back in the UK.
Thanks

Hey Phil
Finally here after 4 years of trying, it's now reality thanks to you!
Got here on Wednesday ain't kicked a ball yet tho because I may have a stress fracture in my right foot due to me running on roads back home, so I'm waiting on an x-ray on Monday to see if things are going to be ok!
Apart from that, everything here is great the college is nice, the facilities are nice and I couldn't have asked for a better apartment! So far so good, it's raining today but previous to that it's been sunny. The coaches are great guys and can coach so it's going to be good, can't wait to get stuck in though!
Anyway thought I'd let you know how things are going, and hope that you are well.

Hi Phil,
I arrived in the USA last week Thursday and I arrived in North Carolina on Monday. I had a tour of Belmont Abbey College by my assistant coach and two of the boys from the school Aaron and James. They showed me around and I am gettin used to the surroundings.
I am probably going to move in to the rooms by Friday, because my mum and sister are still here in the hotel near the school, so I might stay with them for the next few days.
But all in all I am doing fine, thank you for helping me and granting me this opportunity to enhance my football and academic career, I will keep in touch with you and all at Sporting Chance USA.
Yours sincerly,

Hi Phil,
Just wanted to post an email saying thank you for all your help in finding me the best scholarship.
I flew over to Atlanta last week and moved into Kennesaw apartments yesterday. Just finished my first training session and really felt I fitted in and I really enjoyed it. Looks like it's going to be a great season.
Thanks again and I will recommend your business to my friends looking to go to the US.

Phil, just to say a big thank you for making Luke's dream come true. He flew to North Carolina this morning 7/8/08 to embark on his 4 year scholarship, it has been an emotional journey with lots of admin and of course the SAT! You have made the journey a smooth ride and Luke will do what he does best - make us all proud and continue to achieve, both academically and as a goalkeeper. It was by chance we met when Luke was at Mansfield Town and I am so glad we did, because Luke has not looked back since. Away from the Premier clubs, America has to be the answer for talented and bright footballers, Sporting Chance USA offers something special - a Second Chance! Thanks Phil.

Just to inform you all that I managed to get my Student Visa today at the Embassy (It's all stamped in my passport now). I am very very excited that my move to Radford University has gone through smoothly. I want to thank every one of you guys with all the support and guidance - I really appreciate your efforts. Have a nice day.

Hi Phil
I am very happy and pleased by the appreciation shown by the athlete Brian Gwanzura. I think Phil you did a good job for Brian and through this process I have also learnt a lot of things. It has been a good experience for me.
I am now looking forward to working with a lot of Athletes from Africa. I am now working actively to develop the website to recruit these athletes and you Phil will do the consulting bit for me.
Gladman Dimbiri – African Athlete Recruitment Consultancy

Dear Phil,
I am glad I picked up the phone to call you. I really enjoyed talking to you. What I liked about you was your honesty and the passion you have for what you are doing.
I plan on copying this email to Annabel and talking to her over the weekend. I would be very happy to fly to meet her in England or have her fly here to see what we have. We have a brand new state of the art $3.5 million facility and 35 minutes away from Dallas. The weather is good practically all year long and Annabel will have all it takes to be the best student and player she possibly can be.

Hi Phil
I would like to thank you for all that you have done for me up to this stage. It seems all is going on very well without any hassles. If you can also help me to thank Gladman for all the support and all the phone calls full of advice that I have been getting from him as well.
Brian Gwanzura – Zimbabwe. Soccer Scholarship at Radford University, Virginia. Fall - 2009

Phil,
I met you at the Derby County training facility for your showcase in December. As I am sure you are aware we have had 4 of your players agree to join us and will be with us this Fall. I just wanted to thank you for your help in getting the guys to TWC. We are very excited to have the lads coming in and are looking forward to working with them all. I hope we are able to bring more players in from your company in the future.
Thanks again,
Stephen Lyons, Head Men's Soccer Coach, Tennessee Wesleyan College

Hi Phil,
Just another quick update.
We've now played 9 games winning 6, drawing 1 and losing 2 which isn't bad but we had a couple of bad weekends last month. I've now scored 3 goals and an own goal! So I'm putting the ball in the back of the net at both ends!
I've started every game and feel like I'm getting to know the game better over here and adapting well with the different styles of training and that. The weather has suddenly got cold but it was really hot last week when we flew down to North Carolina. We played in 33 degree heat! and then spent a day on the beach, so that was a good weekend.
I've spoken to a couple of the Forest lads and they seem keen that if they if they don't get another contract, they would love to come out here with me. I've told them they would love it and they should try and get in contact with you once they have more information about what they are doing next year.
Hope things are good back home in England and you're sending many more people out here!'

We recently had Phil Selby attend South Devon College to give us an insight to the scheme you run. After listening to Phil and what he had to say, this has really made my mind up about really digging in hard and working to get there. The talk was excellent and really beneficial, I now believe it's time he did a talk where our parents could attend with us one evening and give the same presentation to them, to convince them of how big an opportunity this really is. I would be grateful if it was possible to arrange 1 soon???
Be good to hear back from you soon.
Thanks
