Scottish u16 & u18s International Faith Joubert joins our 2020 Field Hockey programme

Sporting Chance USA is delighted to welcome Faith Joubert to our Fall 2020 Field Hockey programme. Faith is yet another excellent young Field Hockey player joining us from Watsonians Ladies Hockey Club in Edinburgh, Scotland. Although still 16 years of age, Faith has an outstanding field hockey playing record. As a midfield player, Faith has both natural pace and technical ability, her exceptional on the ball skills are evident in her videos (see below) and her overall positional play and movement on and off the ball for a 16 year old is quite remarkable.

In 2017 Faith was invited to attend the Scottish Hybrid Training Sessions, as well as the Scottish Training Academy in 2017 & 2018. She was a member of the Scotland u16s squad participating in the Ulster Games & Ireland game selections and in 2018 was selected for the East of Scotland u18s Indoor & District team. Faith has also featured for the Scotland u18s Futures Cup squad.

Club wise, Faith could not be playing or training with a better Scottish Field Hockey Club than Watsonians Ladies Hockey Club based in Edinburgh. Watsonians are a club renowned for producing top quality international standard players and Faith is the fourth player from this club to join Sporting Chance USA in the past four years. Since 2018 Faith been playing for both the indoor and outdoor Watsonians Ladies National 1 team, which in itself is a remarkable achievement for a 16 year old! In 2016/2017, she helped the club win the u16s Scottish Cup and repeated this feat again in 2018 with the club’s u18s team.

As a member of the George Watsons College First X1 Field Hockey team, Faith has helped her college become the Scottish Champions, the Caritas 7s winners & the East of Scotland Cup Winners, all in 2018.

Academically Faith’s grades match her ability on the hockey field, Attending George Watson’s College in Edinburgh, she is a straight A’s student and has been predicted the same for her Scottish Highers which she will complete in 2020. When she moves to a US college, Faith would like to study a business related major.
