We are delighted to welcome Callum Rochester who is the second Swindon Town FC FITC player to join our Fall 2018 Men’s Soccer program this week!
US College Men’s Soccer Coaches looking for a commanding keeper for Fall 2018 should definitely take a good look at 18 year old Callum Rochester. Standing over 6′ 4″ tall Callum is well capable of dominating his 6 and 18 yard areas. For a tall keeper he is extremely agile and is an excellent shot stopper, being able to get down to low shots very quickly. He is also good at taking crosses and is not easily intimidated by opposing forwards, he is a good communicator and can relied upon to instill confidence in his fellow defenders. Like most young keepers, working on ‘decision making’ is always a top priority and for his age, Callum already has a very good sense of positional awareness.
Callum who lives in Swindon, began playing soccer at the age of 6, joining his local junior club; South Swindon FC u8s. The following year he joined Liden FC u10s and has remained with the club to the present day. During his time at Liden Callum has won numerous club awards i.e. Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year and Most Improved Player of the Year awards. He has also represented Swindon Town Schools FA u15s and has played on the Reading FC Futsal program. He is currently playing and studying on the Swindon Town FC Football in the Community program and in season 2017/2018 will be keeping goal for their u19s squad.
Academically Callum has a good set of GCSE qualifications and is currently studying in the second year of his CTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport at the Swindon Commonwealth School. When he moves to a US College in Fall 2018, Callum would like to study a sport related Major.
