MEDICAL INSURANCE

All students looking to study full-time in the USA will be required to take out personal travel insurance, which includes medical cover. Medic aid in the USA can prove very expensive and we insist that our clients are well prepared for any ‘off-campus’ accidents. Sporting Chance USA has researched the market and has located the UK's ONLY Long Stay Travel Insurance specialists. If you suffer bodily injury, illness or disease we reserve the right to move you from one hospital to another and/or arrange for your repatriation to the United Kingdom at any time during the trip. We will do this, if in the opinion of the medical practitioner in attendance, or the 24 hour emergency medical service, you can be moved safely and / or travel safely to your home area or a suitable hospital nearby to continue treatment.

Please ensure you are fully familiar with the HEALTH INSURANCE and SPORTS COVER at the educational institution, who may have alternatives and even combined cover. There are HEALTH INSURANCE schemes through a specialist UK Broker, as noted through our LINK.

What is the SEVIS FEE?
The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement use a system to track and monitor schools' programs, students and exchange visitors and their dependents throughout the duration of their approved participation within the US education system. This system is the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System, or as it is better known: SEVIS. This information ensures that only legitimate foreign students or exchange visitors gain entry to the United States.

How Do I Pay the SEVIS FEE?
When you have received your I20 form from the US university, you go to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement website:
www.ice.gov. Then from the header bar select: International Students. From the drop down menu, select: i 901. You can then follow the instructions as to how to pay the SEVIS fee. The current fee is $200. Payment can be made online via most leading credit cards. When you have made your SEVIS payment, you will need to print off a copy of your receipt.

When booking your US visa appointment at the US Embassy in London, you will need to inform them that you have received your I20 form and that you have paid your SEVIS fee and have the receipt. The staff at the US Embassy will need to see proof of this along with your passport and completed US visa documentation.
